If you are aged 75-79 you can have the RSV vaccination. If you turned 80 after 2nd September 2024 you are also eligible.
RSV is a common virus affecting the airways and lungs. For most adults and children it causes a mild illness such as a cough or cold and usually gets better on its own. As you get older your risk of serious illness from RSV increases and can lead to pneumonia or even death, especially in those with heart or lung disease or a weakened immune system.
