The Surgery doors will be closing at 6:00pm on Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24th December 2025), and we will be closed on the Christmas and Boxing Day bank holidays (Thursday 25th and Friday 26th December 2025) and also on the New Year’s Day bank holiday (Thursday 1st January 2026).
The Surgery will be open as normal on Monday 29th – Wednesday 31st December 2025 and then resume as normal from Friday 2nd January 2026.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board have provided us with details of pharmacy opening hours in the area over the Christmas and New Year period:
The flu season started earlier this year and there have been recent sharp increases in the number of flu cases seen – and we have not yet reached the peak.
The Surgery will be receiving additional supplies of the flu vaccine tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday 17th December 2025.
We would therefore encourage those patients eligible for a flu vaccination, who have not yet received it, to contact the Surgery to make an appointment, ideally before Christmas.
The Surgery will be closed on both sites on the afternoon of Thursday 20th November 2025 from 1:00pm for clinical staff training which has been provided by Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board across Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr.
From 1:00pm on the 20th November our telephone system will move to an automated message providing contact details for a covering GP Team. This team will only be able to deal with urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the following day. They will not be able to deal with general queries.
Please remember that you should ring 999 for medical emergencies or 111 for NHS health advice.
The Surgery will open as normal from 8:00am the following day, Friday 21st November 2025.
